about 68 kilometres from Faro, and has some
magnificent sandy beaches. A splendid promenade stretches along the front
to the picturesque old harbour and the marina. The narrow cobbled streets contain a range of boutiques, antique and local
craft shops, and many restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Praia da Luz A few kilometres along the coast from Lagos is Praia
da Luz, one of many attractive fishing villages
in the area. The numerous small sandy coves offer the opportunity for sheltered
bathing and swimming.
