Bay
Tree Farm
is situated in the small quiet village of Aldfield,
1/2 mile from the B6265 Pateley Bridge - Ripon road,
within walking distance of Fountains Abbey & Studley
Royal Deer Park. The village has a church, a post box and a public telephone.
Our farm
is one of two that make up the 400 acre dairy, beef and arable family
farm. All the main buildings and
machinery are at Fountains Farm, 1 mile away - thus making Bay Tree Farm a
clean and safe place, with ample space for parking. Although occasionally some
animals are kept in the field adjacent to Bay Tree Farm!
Our
house and barn are well over 200 years old and built in traditional Yorkshire style. We pride ourselves on the
family atmosphere, and give personal attention a high priority.
'Our kettle is always on the boil' . As we are both 'Yorkshire born and
bred', we will be pleased to give advice on places to visit, local restaurants,
drives in the Dales and long or short walks. The lounge has a plentiful supply
of tourist literature. We hope you'll feel free to come and go as you please
and make it your home during your stay.
Children
are welcome, a cot is available. Dogs by arrangement please.
MEALS
Meals are
home-prepared and cooked using local produce wherever possible. As Val is a home-economics teacher,
visitors can be assured of good food at all times and you are welcome to bring
your own wine/beer to accompany your meal.
Breakfast can include fruit, cereal and a
substantial English cooked breakfast, and the evening meal can consist of two
or three courses (depending on the size of your appetite) followed by
tea/coffee. Special diets are catered for..
ACCOMMODATION
Our guest accommodation consists
of six en-suite bedrooms in the recently converted 17th century stone
barn, which has its own reception area, dining room and sitting room,
with a roaring fire and French windows to the garden. All rooms look out
onto grazing cattle and horses in the pastures surrounding the property.
The rooms have been furnished to a high standard and each uniquely decorated
bedroom has exposed beams, radio and colour TV (remote), easy chairs,
tea/coffee facilities, tourist information pack, shaver point and central
heating.
